I have been busy looking around for a homeschool provider for my little boy who is turning 5 in June. I started considering it more seriously after our attempts at conventional schooling did not produce satisfactory results.

We like visiting La Mesa Ecopark. Fortunately, it is only 15 minutes from home, traffic included. We went there again last Tuesday and were pleasantly surprised to find that cabanas have been added in the picnic grounds. A new swimming pool is being constructed which will be opened this April. This is good because the existing one is always packed especially during the semestral break, the summer months, and on weekends.

In less than two months, the country will again go the the polls to elect a new President. This particular one gives us reason to be genuinely anxious as we are about to experience fully automated elections for the first time. Despite controversies concerning the supplier, doubts on the poll body’s capability to oversee the process and confusion among the electorate about the modernized method of voting, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) nevertheless appears confident that it can carry out its task.

My husband and I like to take our kids to parks whenever the weather permits. This way, it is easier to teach them to appreciate and care for the environment. Also, they get to learn that there are other ways to while away one’s time aside from going to the mall, shopping and playing games at the video arcade.

Without a doubt, the EDSA MRT was one of the things that hastened my decision to leave work for the stay-at-home life. I still vividly recall my very first MRT ride to Makati. It was after my husband and I decided that driving would no longer be an option for me. I was just coming off my maternity leave after my second child’s birth and driving would have been a great risk given that I also took care of our baby at night.

Mention the words household help to any wife, mother, homemaker, homeowner here in the Philippines and I guarantee that you an endless discussion. Life just isn’t the same without a nanny (yaya), laundrywoman, housemaid, cleaning lady and driver, for some. It is not that the Philippines is a country of spoiled brats.

I was a flight attendant once. I never planned on becoming one but somehow, after graduation from college, I accidentally got hold of an application form through a friend. I casually filled out the form, mailed it, then didn’t think about it afterwards. Months later, I received (I know this is going to sound archaic) a telegram from the airline company.

I remember an experience back in 2006 that reminded me of the essence of sharing what you have.
I was in the middle of preparations for my son’s first birthday. Then being a first-time mother, I wanted to make his birthday party really special. I was scouring the shops, looking for party favors for our guests.

Some peoples lives are so intertwined… Really…Read this story…When I was in high school back in the 80′s, I attended a national encampment as a girl scout. There, I met Melissa who was to be my pen friend for the rest of high school. She was a girl scout from Nueva Vizcaya, a northern Philippine province. In the 80′s, keeping in touch meant writing letters. No, not e-mails, but handwritten letters that took about a week to send by mail.
