Whenever my son doesn’t want to pack away his toys, I would tell him that the garbage truck that he sees every morning takes away the toys that boys and girls do not want to pack way. This strategy has worked like a charm so far, together with the use of a little dramatics. At [...]

I hope it isn’t too obvious that I hardly have time to blog these days. I really only have time to share videos with the handful of readers of my blog (who are either people on a mission to help fledgling bloggers –-Thank God, you exist!– or are being compensated by my husband to increase [...]

Here is an animated version of the classic “The Very Hungry Catterpillar” by Eric Carle that we found on You Tube. My son had a renewed interest in the book after seeing this video. Now he tries to read it as the narrator does in the video. “The Very Hungry Catterpillar” could be used for [...]

My son and I are newbie homeschoolers who only seriously started in the Summer of 2010. Our sessions usually start at around 10 a.m. After breakfast, I let my son ride his bike, play with his toys or even watch TV before we start our “classes.” I put on the Teacher hat, so to speak, [...]

I have been busy looking around for a homeschool provider for my little boy who is turning 5 in June. I started considering it more seriously after our attempts at conventional schooling did not produce satisfactory results.

I don’t quite recall how my first-born was potty trained. By the time I quit full-time work, he was already four years old and had already been potty trained…by the nanny. I did, however, share in the work. Whenever he wanted to go, someone had to sit next to him in the toilet to read him a book! ( Oh, yes, he loved that!) We still have accidents every now and then, but, they don’t bother me now as much as they used to. I am sure that it is a task that he will learn to master in his own time.

This is the personal blog of Elizabeth, a coffeeholic Filipina born and raised in the Philippine capital Metro Manila. After 16 years of slaving it out in the corporate world, I made the decision to become a stay-at-home mom and entrepreneur. Don’t be impressed, though. The entrepreneur part is still in the works. Being at [...]
